Apocalypse is one of the most powerful mutants on Earth. He believes in survival of the fittest and the most fit are made into his Horsemen. The Horsemen of Apocalypse are enhanced by the ancient mutant and are cast into the roles of War, Pestilence, Famine, and Death. The group is always a grave threat and there have been many in its ranks, not all of them mutants.

If Apocalypse finds himself in the DC Universe, he’d need new Horsemen to help him. While there are no mutants, there are many powerful heroes who would fit the roles that Apocalypse would need.
10 Batman Would Be The Ultimate DeathApocalypse doesn’t like humans but he’d make an exception for Batman. Batman is the ultimate survivor and has defeated just about every threat in his way. Apocalypse would respect this immensely and find him worthy. The best reward for that worthiness would be to make him into a Horseman. Batman would be perfect as the Horseman of Death.
While Batman doesn’t kill, Apocalypse’s brainwashing would make him into whatever he wants. With the power that Apocalypse would give him, Batman would make a frightening Horseman. He’d combine his already powerful intellect with Apocalypse’s Celestial technology into a potent package.
9 Zatanna Would Be Great As PestilenceZatanna is a mutant, a fusion of homo sapien and homo magi, trained by her father in the art of magic. Apocalypse would find her intriguing and want her as one of the Horsemen. With powers like Zatanna, Pestilence is a great option for her. She can use her magic to spread disease with the best of them, infecting anyone with just a backwards sentence.
Zatanna is purehearted but Apocalypse knows how to manipulate others into joining him. Zatanna would be too much for Apocalypse to pass up and transforming her into Pestilence would give him a weapon to separate the weak from the strong.
8 Ice’s Power Make Her Ideal For FamineIce is one of the most good-natured heroes in the DC Universe. While this would seemingly make it impossible for Apocalypse to turn her, the millennia old mutant is much craftier than he gets credit for. Ice’s powers make her perfect as Famine. Winter is historically the time of death, when crops and animals freeze in the cold and that is Ice’s power.

Apocalypse would enhance her to an amazing extent, making her powers greater than she ever imagined. With the help of some of Apocalypse’s patented Celestial armor, Ice would be more formidable than ever before.
7 Big Barda Would Feel At Home As WarThe Female Furies are some of Darkseid’s most powerful servants and Big Barda was the most formidable. She left the God of Evil’s service because of her love for Scott Free and wouldn’t want to go back into anyone’s service. For his part, Apocalypse would want to get his hands on a New God, so he would do everything in his power to get her for his Horsemen.
Big Barda is built for War. She’s been fighting for years and is as strong and durable as they come. Apocalypse could craft her into an extremely formidable War, a force that run through anyone Apocalypse pointed her at.
6 Starfire Is Built To Be WarStarfire is one of the most powerful Teen Titans ever, a Tamaranean warrior princess. She’s a good person but she has no problem fighting any foe in her way. Her good nature is something Apocalypse could use against her, promising her greater power in exchange for her service. This would give Apocalypse his in and he would soon see she was built for War.
Starfire has everything she needs to be the perfect Horseman and with the enhancements that Apocalypse would give her, she’d be just about unstoppable. As powerful and skilled as she is, Apocalypse would make her into something majestic and terrible.
5 Martian Manhunter’s Powers Would Make Him A Formidable DeathMartian Manhunter’s plethora of powers have allowed him to be one of the Justice League’s most stalwart members. Martian DNA would be intriguing to Apocalypse and he would want Martian Manhunter as a Horseman. While his weakness to fire would be a problem, Apocalypse would find a way to protect his new Death from it.
With all of his powers, Martian Manhunter would be an amazing Horseman. Death is ever changing and Martian Manhunter’s shapeshifting fits that perfectly. With abilities like his, there are few who would make a better Death than him.
4 Animal Man Would Be The Greatest PestilenceAnimal Man is one of the Justice League’s most underrated members. His connection to the Red allows him to tap into the abilities of all living things. He’s able to tap into bacteria, so there’s a good chance he can do the same to viruses. This would make him the perfect Pestilence for Apocalypse, his powers unleashing pain and death on the weak.
Animal Man would be too powerful for Apocalypse to pass up. He’s rarely had a Horseman with the kind of power that Animal Man has and once Apocalypse enhanced him, Animal Man would be a nearly invincible Horseman.
3 Swamp Thing’s Connection To The Green Is The Right Power To Be FamineSwamp Thing is the guardian of the Green, a powerful elemental who is just about unbeatable. Apocalypse would want power like Swamp Thing’s for the Horsemen, and Swamp Thing’s best suited for the role of Famine. He can control the very plants that are the basis of the food chain and use them as weapons against all.

With Swamp Thing on his side as Famine, Apocalypse would be able to control the food supply of the world, starving out all who were weak and opposed him. Swamp Thing is almost unconquerable as it is and he’d give Apocalypse the best Famine he ever had.
2 Wonder Woman May Fight For Peace But That Doesn’t Stop Her From Being A Great WarWonder Woman is one of the most important heroes on Earth. While she fights for peace and truth, she’s trained for war and her status as an Amazonian demi-god makes her someone that Apocalypse would want on his side. Forging Diana into War is a no brainer for Apocalypse. All he’d need to do is slap some armor on her and call it a day.
Wonder Woman as War is a frightening proposition. Apocalypse would do everything he could to get her as War and once he did, the weak would fall before him. On top of that, he’d have access to Amazonian and Olympian DNA.
1 Superman Would Be A Hard Sell For Apocalypse But He’d Want The Kryptonian As DeathApocalypse would be very interested in Kryptonians, especially Superman. His powers have changed a lot over the years and now that they’re at their weakest, Apocalypse could use that to get an in with Superman. Promising to help the Man of Steel fix his powers would be enough to get Apocalypse a chance to transform Superman into a Horseman.
As powerful as Superman would be with Apocalypse’s enhancements, he’d be a very powerful Death. Superman could kill entire worlds by flying into them fast enough; with Superman as Death, Apocalypse would cull the weak throughout the universe.
